Associated Electric’s New Madrid Power Plant is currently seeking applicants for a Manager, Human Resources (HR) position. The New Madrid Power Plant is a coal-combustion electrical power generating facility located near Sikeston, Missouri.
As the business partner to the power plant, the Manager, HR is responsible for assessing and anticipating HR related needs associated with power plant business objectives. This position provides strategic leadership, direction, and ownership for the full range of HR functions including employee relations, labor relations, benefits, recruitment, change integration, talent & performance management, training & development, compliance, communication, and wage & salary administration. These functional areas encompass simultaneous large projects with overlapping priorities and resource requirements. The manager supervises other HR personnel at the plant and has a dual reporting relationship with the Senior Vice President/CHRO and Senior Plant Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
At least seven years of progressively responsible human resources experience, with at least three years in supervision and developing staff, managing and implementing projects and annual budgeting is required.
Demonstrated labor relations experience, including administering a Collective Bargaining Agreement, answering grievances, troubleshooting labor issues, coaching and developing peer managers and front line supervisors in labor relations, and partnering with labor leadership is essential for this position.
Excellent use of judgment and discretion through effective communication, both written and oral. Proficient skills with the Microsoft Office Suite are required.
Excellent ability to lead HR initiatives across a multi-site environment, work effectively with others, including the ability to collaborate, advise, persuade, mediate, and confront difficult, unusual, or high impact issues.
