Callaway Electric Cooperative is seeking candidates for a Journeyman Lineman. This position requires overhead and underground electrical installation and troubleshooting. It involves heavy lifting, pole climbing, and other strenuous activities. Successful candidates will possess excellent skills in leadership, communication and the ability to follow oral and written instruction.
Interested individuals must have successfully completed an approved electrical power distribution program and have a minimum of five years of lineman experience. In addition, as Callaway Electric is committed to safety, the candidates must be safety oriented and be able to meet all safety standards set forth by the Cooperative’s operating procedures, OSHA, and ANSI standards. Candidates must understand the operation and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.
A 6-8 week rotation of after-hours calls will be required with some additional calls in emergency situations. Additional requirements include a valid Class A CDL and certification in First Aid and CPR. Pre-employment drug screening and physical capacity profile testing will be required.
