The candidate should be knowledgeable in reading ladder logic diagrams and have the ability to trouble shoot system faults using generally acceptable procedures and practices. General understanding of medium voltage switchgear, 480v Motor Control Centers, and protective relaying. Understanding of generally acceptable maintenance practices for large and small transformers, motors, and generators. The candidate will also have the responsibility of developing and implementing a short and long term strategic plan that supports the needs for an electric generating station, including responsibility to monitor and support other related electrical maintenance activities.
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and implementing engineering, design policies, and maintenance activities for plant electrical systems. Requires a high level of judgment, analytic ability and creativity, such as investigating moderately complex problems or situations, analyzing information and recommending solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required or an alternate combination of education and experience, which results in equivalent job knowledge. Requires thorough knowledge of power plant operations and electrical systems. Good communication and supervisory skills required. Respirator release required. Requires the ability to use formal engineering training in practical application in a power plant environment.
