The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work control processes. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. This position will ensure efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling of all resources to conduct maintenance activities, in a safe manner, while minimizing downtime, maintaining maximum productivity, and staying within regulatory compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages work priority, develop job plans, defines parts and material, defines crafts and skills and engages the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control
Responsible for the planning/scheduling activities within the maintenance organization by utilizing advanced technical knowledge of maintenance crafts, planning, scheduling, and coordinating
Follows up on accuracy of the job plan for all planned (PM, Corrective, and Outage Planning)
Focuses on being proactive and optimizing the workforce productivity while minimizing downtime.
Manages work load one (1) week or more in advance, sets and meets
Provides Maintenance interface with Procurement to determine inventory requirements for completion of work
Utilizes the Plant Maintenance Work Order System to review, prioritize and schedule maintenance work.
Negotiates down time with Operations to accommodate required Maintenance
Coordinates scheduling of critical inspections for compliance with all pertinent regulatory agencies.
Provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance activities.
Supports plant efforts to maintain essential historical documentation of maintenance work
Compiles weekly reports for tracking Key Performance
Ensures documentation of Post Maintenance
A Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field is
Minimum of 5 years project management, planning/scheduling experience with power production or
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Craft knowledge and knowledge of trade practices and
Possess excellent project management skills, and be able to effectively interpret technical documents, blueprints, and
Experience with planning software including Microsoft Project and/or Oracle Primavera
