Columbia Basin Electric Co-op job opening for G/M CEO (Heppner Oregon)
This position is responsible for the total management of all Cooperative operations and advises and assists the Board of Directors on matters of corporate policy and key operational matters.
CEO reports to the Board of Directors, supervises the Manager of Operations and Manager of Finance and Administration, and directs all Cooperative personnel.
Position has both external and internal contacts, which require a high degree of diplomacy and the ability to interact with and influence persons in all types of positions. Some travel, nights, weekend and irregular hours are required in the completion of responsibilities.
CEO will analyze and execute legal documents, including contracts, consulting services, labor contracts and other.
Position requires the management of an electric distribution utility. A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or clearly demonstrated electric utility management skills and related duties. At least ten years significant and progressively responsible experience in utility business management required, with at least seven years involved in the direct supervision and leadership responsibilities at the department level. Extensive knowledge of management functions, utility concepts, economics, rate design and the operations requirements of the electric utility industry is essential.
Candidate will be one of high integrity with excellent people and communication skills. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to lead the strategic, financial, risk management, operational, engineering, technology, safety and member service planning initiatives required of an electric distribution cooperative. Understanding the working relationship between the CEO and the Board of Directors and a commitment to the “cooperative principles” as well as team building is required. Interest in building relationships with members, the community, and associated organizations is paramount.
