Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Operations Manager to join our organization headquartered in Palmyra, MO. The Operations Manager provides planning and supervision throughout the distribution system owned and operated by Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative.
Education/Experience: A minimum of four years of utility work experience and completion of a Journeyman Lineman certification are preferred. High school education or equivalent is required. Courses in electricity, manual arts, and mechanical drawing desirable. Must be able to learn software and use all forms of electronics.
Planning, scheduling and making work assignments to each subordinate employee to ensure handling of work in an efficient manner.
Knowing and administering a proper safety program, while contributing and maintaining a proper safety culture.
Must have or acquire a thorough working knowledge of the entire distribution system. Must have a thorough knowledge of the system mapping and be able to read and to interpret maps to others.
Responsible during both normal working hours and non-working hours for planning and supervising all outages and service interruptions.
Responsible for keeping accurate maintenance and construction records and reports.
Responsible for knowing and following all policies, procedures, RUS requirements, National Electric Safety Code, and all other regulations regarding the electric distribution systems.
Responsible for the purchase of all materials necessary for the construction and maintenance of the Cooperative’s distribution system. Responsible for having an adequate stock of material and supplies in inventory.
Responsible for keeping all powerlines and powerline equipment maintained and in good working order.
Responsible for the cooperative’s vehicle fleet.
Must have the ability to solve and cope with difficult situations.
Must be able and willing to report to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
Must be able to maintain a professional relationship with all stakeholders.
