Atchison-Holt Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Operations Manager to join our organization headquartered in Rock Port, MO. The Operations Manager provides planning and supervision throughout the distribution system owned and operated by Atchison-Holt Electric Cooperative.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes and encourages a safe work environment. Safely performs work in conformance with all applicable standards and regulations.
Promptly reports on-the-job accidents to the General Manager and Human Resources director. Participates in accident investigations and contributes to lessons learned and abatement recommendations.
Coordinates with management, operations, engineering, and contractors to complete construction related projects to meet quality and schedule requirements.
Supervises and directs the activities of the line crews, oversees contractor performance and manages activities related to constructing safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical service.
Completes all employee evaluations annually while providing meaningful feedback for each employee.
Prepares and provides budget and work plan recommendations to the General Manager related to construction and maintenance activities.
Develops and administers training plans to ensure employee development. Provides training, coaching and mentoring necessary to foster a cohesive work group.
Responsible during both normal working hours and non-working hours for planning and supervising all outages and service interruptions.
Responsible for keeping accurate maintenance and construction records.
Responsible for knowing and following all policies, procedures, RUS requirements, National Electric Safety Code, and all other regulations regarding the electric distribution system.
Responsible for the cooperative’s vehicle fleet to minimize the risks associated with vehicle investment while improving efficiency, and productivity. Must ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Conducts themselves in a manner that reflects well on the Cooperative and contributes to harmonious relations with members and the general public.
Ten years of increasingly responsible experience in electric utility operations
Experience supervising, coaching and developing employees
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license (Class A Commercial Driver’s License, CDL preferred)
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with an electric utility, qualified journeyman lineworker or engineer; plus three (5) years in a supervisory position. Prior experience working as a Journeyman Lineman or on a line crew is preferred. Experience managing to a Union Contract is also preferred
