Journeyman Lead Lineman Construction Foreman, District Foreman
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To perform line service maintenance and construction functions; to provide the highest level of line construction and operations knowledge.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Require High School Graduate/Equivalent. Require the Journeyman Lineman certification and satisfactory performance appraisals, with a minimum of eight years’ experience in utility work. Require demonstrated expertise of underground and overhead distribution power line maintenance methods, procedures, RUS specifications. Require knowledge of the SCADA system, distribution lines, substation locations; the principles of basic electricity and safety precautions. Must be a certified ITS operator. Require the ability to work with minimal or no supervision; become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures and to exercise correct judgment in the application of these policies to the performance of all job duties. Require excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with member, employees, directors and the public. Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver's license and DOT certification.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Outside work in various weather conditions; require flexibility to be available for overtime, and to work during emergency situations, as necessary. Must be able to write legibly in order to complete daily time sheets and other written correspondence. Must have verbal/audio abilities necessary to communicate effectively directly through personal contact and indirectly through two-way radio with members and co-employees. Must be able to walk and possess adequate vision to drive a truck with manual transmission over established service area. Must have ability to assist one other person in lifting a 250 lb. transformer if necessary. Must have ability to efficiently operate a line truck and bucket truck and climb 70 ft. pole if necessary. Must pass employment drug screen before beginning work.

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including listening, verbal communications, ability to provide feedback, ability to manage personal time and ability to control anger in dealing with members and co-workers. Must be able to perform job functions in cooperation with Supervisor, co-workers, members and public. Must perform in a consistent, even tempered manner in handling confrontational situations with members and co-workers. Must be able to exercise personal control and apply prescribed safety/loss control procedures when involved in an emergency situation.
