The Board of Directors of Chickasaw Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Somerville, Tennessee is seeking an experienced leader. The current General Manager is retiring this spring. Applications will be accepted through March 30, 2020.
Chickasaw Electric Cooperative, 17970 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068, is a distribution cooperative that provides service to 20,077 consumer-owners in parts of Fayette, Hardeman and Haywood counties in West Tennessee and a small area in north Mississippi . Incorporated in 1940, the cooperative manages more than 1,500 miles of line. Chickasaw EC has 63 employees. The cooperative is in excellent financial condition, with an equity level of 85%.
Successful candidates should have a four-year degree in engineering, business or a related field from an accredited college. Ten years’ experience in progressively responsible positions, with a minimum of five years supervisory experience at the senior management level. A portion of the experience requirement may be substituted for a portion of the education requirement. A portion of the education requirement may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement. Must have an understanding of electrical distribution system, and substation and transmission system design and operation. Must have excellent communication skills, proven leadership ability and a strong commitment to teamwork and the cooperative principles. Should have a good knowledge of management principles, including planning and organization, budgeting, and supervision. Should have a knowledge of employment law, marketing, and accounting.
