Middle Tennessee Electric is looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our team. The position is located at our corporate office and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance. To work at MTE means to be part of something great. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting, Finance or a related field.
10+ years of progressively responsible financial planning and analysis experience.
CPA, CMA, or similar accounting or financial certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of finance and accounting, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze scenarios and draw meaningful and actionable conclusions.
Highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and precision.
Assist the CFO in transforming the overarching company strategy into a long-range financial plan with annual operating and capital budgets.
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide the leadership team with appropriate reports and analytical tools to establish goals and measure financial performance on a routine basis.
Support executive and operational functions in their achievement of company financial performance and objectives.
Support the strategic business planning process by developing financial models to analyze and support strategic initiatives.
Analyze trends and unexpected variances in key performance indicators, including all areas of revenue, wholesale power costs, expenses, and capital expenditures.
Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
Collaborate with CFO on treasury management, cash forecasting, and evaluating financial risk.
Responsible for developing, modeling, and analyzing various rate structures, additional service offerings, and strategic opportunities for their impact on the cooperative’s long-term financial stability.
