Position Summary: Under the direction of the Engineering Services Manager, provides prompt, courteous and accurate consumers service by receiving and handling new requests for electrical power. Coordinates work order information flow, planned outages and other engineering information in support of engineering personnel and provides clerical services to the Engineering Services Department.

Receives and processes requests for new electric service and line extensions or upgrades.
Updates member information, work orders and service order information in customer information system.
Provides clerical and administration tasks for Engineering Services Department.
In coordination with Staking Engineers, completes, processes, handles and maintains files of service contracts, including preparing and distributing service agreements and invoices for new construction accounts.
Prepares and maintains contribution-in-aid-of-construction records.
Prepares and submits permits and rights-of-way.
Maintains engineering and operation data in support of Engineering Services activities through the utilization of available resources and following established policies, practices and procedures by obtaining, monitoring and processing appropriate data.
Coordinates planned outages between Engineering Services and Operations Departments and front office staff.
Responds to member/contractor questions concerning service installations/inquiries, schedule appointments, receive and process inspections and update computer records as required.
Researches and responds to general member questions and direct phone calls to appropriate personnel as needed to answer inquiries.
Responds to requests for underground cable locates, contacts North Dakota One-Call for MEC locates and for updating the One-Call database.
As directed, accumulates and processes data through appropriate reporting method on a timely basis, including work order activity, outage incidents and restoration information, meter reports, maintenance records and other Engineering Services activities.
Provides general administration support, including filing, copying, image scanning and file management of related documents.
As needed, provides general administration and coordination support of projects between Engineering Services, Operations and Accounting Departments.
Transmits and receives information over the company radio system with other employees in the field.
Provides information and assistance to members in a manner that projects a favorable public impact for the Cooperative.
Introduce potential residential and commercial members to the opportunities and benefits of receiving Cooperative services.

Education/Experience: Associated degree or equivalent from a two-year college or tech school; or one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses: A valid ND Class D driver’s license is required.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of how PC based Window’s software operates.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
