Manages the overall accounting activities of an organization. Administers accounting policies and directives. Evaluates the consumer information and fixed asset systems, payroll accounting, accounts payable and related records. Ensures accurate financial statements, entries and reports. Responsible for annual financial audit.
Retirement and allocation of capital credits.
Processes annual reports and filings including form 7, gross revenue filing, PUC and EIA filings.
Responsible for assuring accuracy of General Ledger, subsidiary ledgers and financial statements.
Perform and/or oversee internal audit functions on office procedure related to accounting and perform test inventory standardization.
Coordinate data processing functions with accounting, reports and enhancement.
Assist in budget design and formulation of assumptions included in the budget.
Planning, as it relates to accounting system design, to increase operational efficiency.
Supervision of accounting staff.
Responsible for records retention as it relates to the accounting department.
Querying and data mining for COSA and rate analysis.
Manage online banking.
Participation in cooperative strategy and initiatives.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years’ progressive accounting experience
Experience supervising one or more employees
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline, preferred
Experience in an electric utility or associated industry is preferred
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards
Knowledge of FERC and RUS accounting standards preferred
Knowledge of federal and state accounting requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
