The successful applicant will report to our Ridgway location within our picturesque service territory. SMPA is a non-profit electric cooperative with an 80-year record of service to our membership. San Miguel Power Association, Inc. is a non-profit, locally-controlled rural electric cooperative with business offices in Nucla and Ridgway, Colorado. SMPA serves approximately 9,600 members and 14,000 meters and supports local communities.

A High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree a plus. Must have experience working with the public and customer service skills. Must have basic math skills, computer & keyboarding skills, and legible handwriting. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Requires the ability to easily handle multiple tasks in an environment with frequent distractions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license. Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) beneficial.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Requires proficiency in accurate computations, and the use of ten-key by touch. Requires excellent organization and planning skills with minimum supervision, excellent interpersonal skills; ability to adjust to varied duties; ability to maintain confidential information. Demonstrates a working knowledge of San Miguel Power Association’s policies and procedures. Understands and applies the concept of providing quality electric service to SMPA consumers and agrees to maintain a continuing commitment to superior people to people service.
