PURPOSE OF POSITION 1. To customize systems and programs necessary to meet the special needs of Blue Ridge Energy. 2. To provide advice and expertise with software systems and troubleshoot issues we may encounter. Acts as a liaison on system/program problems with software vendors utilized by Blue Ridge Energy. 3. Provides support, integration and development for Blue Ridge analytics, applications and databases.
Develop, implement and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other data strategies that optimize efficiency and quality.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, write code to assist in data analysis and make predictions based on data trends.
Filter and "clean" data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and implement end user data discovery solutions using dashboards and reports.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
Analyze geographical information and extract geographical data to present in reports, dashboards or presentations.
Work in conjunction with GIS specialists to integrate GIS data with other datasets.
Knowledge of Machine Learning systems and familiarity with machine learning frameworks preferred (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikitlearn).
Provides excellent service to internal and external customers through safe, quality workmanship and expert technical assistance.
Deliver excellent customer service in all areas of responsibility.
Communicates effectively with users of IT services to assure their needs are met and the quality of the service meets or exceeds expectations.
Responsible for ensuring application data is stored in a standardized data format and for appropriately securing data when transmitted external to the organization.
Assists the Application Support Manager in coordinating with Blue Ridge users when developing, testing, and implementing applications and makes recommendations to ensure Blue Ridge Energy needs are met.
Assists with Help Desk and General IT support (hardware/software upgrades).
Address all software interface issues in a timely manner, to ensure data integrity and system availability.
Perform other duties as assigned from time-to-time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Education: B. S. degree in computer science or a closely related field of study required. Practical experience and on-the-job training may substitute for all or part of formal education requirements. 2. Experience: Minimum of four years as systems analyst or programmer/analyst. 3. Job Knowledge and Skills: Must be thoroughly familiar with current computer equipment and systems used by Blue Ridge Electric. Must be able to plan and organize work. 4. Work Hours: Normal work hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, however, management reserves the right to alter work hours to meet the needs of the cooperative, which may include overnight out of town travel. After business hours On-Call required on a rotation basis with other IT employees. 5. Driver's License Requirement: Operates own (personal) vehicle as a job requirement (reimbursed mileage). Must have current, valid vehicle operator's license. 6. Overtime Status: Is exempt from overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act, as amended - administrative definition. 7.
