The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the building and equipment maintenance scheduling to ensure a safe and sound working environment for employees and members. A perfect candidate for this position would be an individual with a positive attitude, previous experience with preventative maintenance programs and a passion for high quality work.
Normal Day-to-Day Work • Responsible for contracting, planning, scheduling and monitoring the building maintenance functions for the cooperative • Coordinate and prioritize all incoming facility maintenance requests and assess for repairs as needed • Conduct proactive maintenance assessments of all EnergyUnited campuses and maintain tracking metrics and documents for continuous improvement assessment • Provide expertise and technical guidance on improving preventive maintenance activities • Provides input, coordination and inspection of the job performance of outside contractors and vendors in the maintenance of our facilities • Focus on being proactive and optimizing contractor productivity while minimizing downtime • Performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks involving general maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds • Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and makes routine repairs such as minor plumbing and/or electrical-related repairs • Observes all safety and work rules and regulations adopted by the Cooperative • Assist with process mapping and data collection for optimal standardization of facility equipment • Coordinate emergency and/or after-hours facility repairs and provide timely, effective communication to management on repair progress
Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position. • High school graduate with 10 or more years of relevant experience; 2-year technical degree with 5 years of experience preferred in HVAC and electrical, or a combination of relevant experience. • Knowledge of HVAC, General Contracting, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and electric utility safety rules and regulations. • Possess and maintain a valid NC Driver’s License with safe driving record. • Be able to lift and move objects weighing 25 pounds and /or infrequently up to 100 pounds. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to implement work plans, make sound decisions from observations and carry out instructions. • Be a self-starter with an attitude of neatness, timeliness, orderliness, and accuracy. • Must be available to work in adverse weather conditions when necessary. • Must live within 20 miles from their respective assigned district except for “on-call” employees who have been approved with remote capabilities. • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
