We are currently seeking qualified applicants for an Associate Energy Management Specialist in the Energy Marketing department of our Engineering & Operations division located in Springfield, MO. Principal activities include maximizing the value of generation, transmission and fuel assets on a daily basis, all with a focus on ensuring reliable energy deliveries to member owners. This role is responsible for accurately submitting generation offers into the Day Ahead and Real Time energy markets, and coordinating any changes in the operating plan. The position will focus on improving the overall generation offer strategy through continual input validation, as well as after the fact settlement reviews.
Submit generation offers in the Day Ahead and Real Time energy markets.
Develop reporting around ancillary services.
Assist Day Ahead team in scheduling power and gas on a daily basis.
Function as the reporting liaison for Energy Marketing and coordinate changes to grid reporting with internal stakeholders.
Provide coverage on Day Ahead power and gas trading duties.
Technical degree in engineering, economics, finance or related discipline; or have minimum 3 years of prior experience in the utility industry with proven ability to effectively make quantitative and economic evaluations quickly.
Strong attention to detail and able to effectively manage multiple tasks with precision and speed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word. MS Power BI knowledge is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
