Mt. Wheeler Power is seeking an individual who is self-motivated, with strong planning, organization analytical and abstract thinking skills. Knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals, and theory as well as various computer applications, with the ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs. Experience using MicroStation or AutoCAD is a plus. Successful applicant will participate in various staff coordination, planning and operations meetings; identify project priorities and deadlines monitor work in progress to assure quality, safety and timely completion; maintain records; prepare, submit reports; make recommendations as required, and perform all other work as assigned. Considerable knowledge of procedures to engage in the design and construction of substations, high voltage power lines and equipment; hazards and safety precautions associated with high voltage; equipment and tools required to effectively perform duties; regulations governing operation, maintenance, and testing of equipment; terminology and nomenclature of the electrical field; the operation of heavy duty power equipment. Considerable oral and written communication skills as well as knowledge of principles of supervision; interpersonal communication team building leadership and mentoring.
An employee in this classification must have Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of substations or electrical services, including underground and overhead systems; four (4) of which must have been in a supervisory
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
An equivalent combination of experience and education.
