Assists the joint use coordinator and the line design team on matters related to joint use attachments on utility poles. Responsible for field audits of joint use attachments and related record keeping.
Independently performs field measurements and audits of joint use attachments on utility poles.
Collects photos of attachments on utility poles and archives for future use by the line design team.
Utilizes existing software or develops spreadsheets as needed to organize data collected in the field.
Creates and monitors the status tickets in the NJUNS joint use system to notify joint attachers of necessary field work to be completed.
Aids the Joint Use Coordinator in the retention of records related to joint use.
Responsible for identifying and reporting any recognized hazards on the Nolin RECC distribution system.
Contacts Kentucky 811 for locator services as necessary for pole change work orders associated with joint use projects.
Maintains tools and equipment in a clean, neat and safe working manner.
Works according to Nolin RECC safety and driving guidelines, reports all accidents immediately, and is responsible for the safety of the assigned area.
Assists in storm restoration efforts on an as-needed basis.
Responsible for becoming familiar with the NESC, NEC and applicable IEEE standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma minimum. Satisfactory completion of a lineman training program preferred.
Maintains an understanding of Nolin RECC and governmental agencies (OSHA, PSC, NESC, etc.) policies and procedures.
Obtains effective knowledge of electric distribution/transmission system design, operation, and RUS construction specifications.
Obtains thorough understanding of the internal computer system (access consumer accounts, service orders, staking sheet, GPS/GIS, and etc.).
Understands departmental relationships/functions and workflow between areas.
Understands Nolin RECC safety and driving guidelines.
Must possess ability to identify problems and deliver solutions
Maintains a courteous and cooperative relationship with employees and the public. (Internal: daily positive interface with employees at all levels within the Cooperative, and coordinates business activities interdepartmentally. External: contractors, consumers, city/county/government representatives, engineers, community agencies, architects, and other Cooperatives.)
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Utilizes the internal computer system to access consumer accounts and operates office equipment.
Becomes familiar with and effectively communicates Nolin RECC and governmental agency policies and procedures.
Must be motivated to learn how to interpret and apply NESC, NEC and IEEE standards as necessary.
Must be able to complete reports, paperwork and perform mathematical calculations applicable to the position.
Relates and empathizes with employees/consumers and maintains a professional demeanor.
Participates in and promotes a positive team environment and independent thinking.
Must be motivated to attend any additional training deemed necessary to enhance job skills and performance.
May include inside office environment (50%) and outside (50%) in all types of weather, terrain and road conditions. Lifting up to 50lbs.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
