| The Board of Directors of Jasper County REMC invite applications for the position of CEO/ General Manager. The current CEO has announced his retirement and the Board has engaged Holmes Executive Search LLC to facilitate the search process. JCREMC (jasperremc.com) is a financially sound and operational strong electric distribution cooperative that serves approximately 9,000 members in Jasper County Indiana. JCREMC is primarily a rural cooperative with 50% residential and 50% commercial and industrial loads. JCREMC has 34 employees and revenue in excess of $26 million: providing safe and reliable electric service for 82 years. The CEO position reports to a seven-member board of directors. An understanding of cooperative governance, policies, bylaws, and the CEO/ Board relationship is highly desirable. The successful candidate needs to be able to communicate effectively with a diverse membership, stakeholders, as well as with team members. Candidate must be a proven leader of great integrity with strong management, mentoring and team building experience. Candidate must have a strong business acumen reflecting their ability to grasp complex industry specific and general business practices and their impact on the membership. They must demonstrate an ability to lead the strategic, risk management, operational, engineering technology, customer service and financial planning initiatives and functions required of an electric distribution cooperative. A firm grasp of the electric utility industries’ evolving legislative and regulatory challenges is critical. Demonstrated progressive career advancement at the senior management level in the electric utility industry is required. An understanding and respect of the cooperative principles and business model is desired. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills and represent the co-op well in the community. A high level of experience and education is expected. The cooperative headquarters is in Rensselaer, Indiana, with a population just under 6,000. Rensselaer is located one hour southeast of Chicago and ninety minutes northwest of Indianapolis, just off of Interstate 65. Rensselaer is the county seat for Jasper County.
