Initiates and monitors employee pay changes in accordance with wage and salary policy programs. Performs tasks associated with payroll, benefits, and compensation administration. Answers and addresses employee and supervisor questions or concerns regarding human resources, payroll and benefits, and policies and procedures. Monitors and benchmarks employee compensation structure and provides recommendations to management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as department representative in assisting Employees, Supervisors, Department Managers, and Vice Presidents company-wide concerning payroll, employee benefits, and Hoosier Energy’s compensation structure.
Maintains documentation in HRIS database to generate and track changes of status impacting employee pay rate, time step progressions, and merit pay. Ensures proper authorizations are obtained for salary changes and payroll deductions. Administers company performance reviews and annual salary planning process.
Works with managers to prepare and update job descriptions as appropriate. Performs job analysis and job evaluation, determines FLSA classification, and recommends pay grade assignments to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness for positions within Hoosier Energy.
Administers Hoosier Energy’s FMLA program, including employee contact and assistance, filing of documents, reports, and correspondence, and coordination with all appropriate parties throughout the process.
Monitors and processes enrollments in employee benefit programs. Responsible for the annual open-enrollment process. Reconciles premium statements to payroll deduction and self-pay billings. Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefits programs. Ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
Prepares specialized human resource documents, reports, analysis, and confidential materials in support of the human resources function. Exchanges wage and benefits survey information with other cooperatives, G&T’s, and outside organizations to benchmark Hoosier’s programs with peers.
Assists with the compilation and processing of payroll as needed, including the preparation and reconciliation of payroll information for accounting and all payroll tax forms.
Oversees processes related to new hires, retirements, terminations, and promotions within Hoosier Energy.
Remains proficient in the performance of the duties of the Payroll, Benefits, and HR Analyst.
Creates, retrieves, and analyzes employee data as required by Supervisors, Managers, and Vice Presidents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree minimum in Human Resources or Business related field
Certified professional in benefits (CBP/CEBS), compensation (CCP) or human resources (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred
5 years’ minimum experience in human resources, compensation, payroll or benefits
Skills and Abilities:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, HRIS systems, and other company software
Ability to manage multiple projects with varying scopes and timelines
Broad knowledge of compensation theory and practice including job analysis and market pricing
Strong arithmetic and statistical analysis skills
Solid understanding of payroll and payroll-related taxes
Working knowledge of employment law issues such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.
