CEO/General Manager Lewis County REC, Lewistown, Missouri The Board of Directors of Lewis County REC is seeking a qualified and engaged leader to fill the CEO/General Manager position. Lewis County REC was instrumental in bringing the first electric school bus to the state of Missouri. The Board desires a forward-thinking leader to promote the progressive spirit of the Cooperative. Applicants should have at least 5 years of electric utility industry experience and 2 years of strong leadership or supervisory experience. Previous CEO or managerial experience is strongly desired. Experience working with or for boards of directors or other similar experience is a plus. The successful candidate would have the following qualities: - Extensive electric utility management experience and knowledge of rural electric cooperatives that includes such areas as operations and safety, strategic planning, team building, budgeting, rate making, and member communications;
- Comprehensive understanding of finance as it relates to electric utility cooperatives;
- Experience with electric cooperative state and federal organizations;
- Strong oral/written communication and people skills;
- Dedication to the cooperative business model and a proven commitment to safety, reliability, affordability; and
- Solid leadership skills and ability to build positive relationships with employees, a diverse membership and community, labor unions, and associated organizations.
The General Manager will be encouraged to reside within 40 miles of the Cooperative’s headquarters and show a desire to be active in the communities served. Lewis County REC is a member of Northeast Power and is located in Lewistown, MO. The Cooperative serves approximately 7,200 meters over more than 2,400 miles of distribution line in Lewis, Clark, Shelby, Knox, Adair, Scotland & Marion Counties in Missouri. The Cooperative has a dedicated workforce of 25 employees and annual revenues of more than $16 million.
