Find out what consistent work with excellent benefits finally feels like. We’re committed to having the most reliable and talented lineman at our cooperative, and Northeastern REMC is ready to invest in YOU.
If you have previous experience with an electrical utility, understand your way around a line truck, and take a safe work environment seriously, we want you to build your career with us. We will provide one of the best benefits packages that you’ll find in the electrical industry, including a fully-funded associate's degree in R.E.A.P. (Rural Electric Apprenticeship Program) on your way to becoming a Journeyman lineman. This position is responsible for various construction and maintenance functions to support the operations of portions of six counties in Northern Indiana.
This includes working with poles, overhead and underground equipment, hot-line tools, and excavating equipment and power tools. You’ll also assist with the installation of oil circuit reclosers, electronic reclosers, poles, capacitors, regulators, SCADA operated equipment, switch gears, vaults, manholes, conduits, security lights, and other line equipment as needed.
To maintain our excellent service reliability with our members, you’ll often be on the emergency 24-hour stand-by rotation to help restore power when needed due to vehicle accidents and storm-related outages. However, being one of the national leaders in reliability means fewer callouts, and for lower durations, so you’ll be home with your family more often.
