Halifax Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a System Engineer. Responsibilities will include: electric system operations and reliability, electric system analysis and design, long range and construction work plan development, the resolution of power quality issues, system support to maintenance protection, as well as compliance with RUS design standards, safety codes and OSHA standards.
Applicant must be highly competent in computer programs, motivated, have good written and verbal communication skills and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Qualifications preferred include knowledge of utility accounting systems and an understanding of relevant environmental concerns.
Position requires a minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school and the ability to obtain a North Carolina professional engineering license. Candidate must possess a knowledge of NESC, NEC, State Electrical Code for utilities, power line construction methods, materials and equipment.
