Transmission Project Engineer East River Electric Power Cooperative has an opening for a Transmission Project Engineer looking for an excellent career opportunity in a stable industry! This engineering role will perform and oversee electric transmission line design for new and modifications to current transmission lines. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide engineering guidance on designs while ensuring compliance with internal, federal and state standards. East River Electric is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative with a service area that covers 40,000 square miles. We deliver wholesale power to our members, which include 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally-owned electric system in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Our members, in turn, power the properties of the member-owners in their service territories. Our Community This job opportunity is located at our main campus in Madison, South Dakota. - Ensure the cooperative's compliance with internal, federal and state standards
- Oversee the flow of design information and/or requirements between outside consultants and internal SMEs
- Assist with the overall development of the electrical transmission system
- Coordinate with project management team to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
- Manage complex projects while effectively communicating with internal and external personnel
Key requirements include: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain such license within four years of hire
- A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of PE registration
- Three years of project engineering experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships
