DARKE RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE SEEKS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities include designing, surveying, and staking electric distribution lines in accordance with RUS and NESC specifications. Will also be responsible for CATV and Telephone Joint use coordination and proposal evaluations. Will learn and assist the Director of Engineering with substation switching, maintenance, and after hours call-outs. Responsible for assisting with implementation of Digital Mapping System. Responsible for assisting and backing up other duties of the department which include meter change outs, disconnects, renewables, and efficiency programs.
Candidate must have strong communication and computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite of software. Past experience as a Lineman in construction of 12470 Volt distribution systems a plus, but not required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to relocate within close proximity to the cooperative office. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a team oriented environment, and strong customer service skills.
