As the Telecommunications Project Coordinator you will be expected to provide leadership, guidance and oversight to OSP/ISP fiber projects; including but not limited to, coordinating regularly scheduled meetings, quality control, financial accountability, escalations, safety and risk management. The Telecommunications Project Coordinator will have a strong understanding of Project Management principles and procedures, FTTx architecture (PON technology preferred), permitting, aerial and underground construction, fiber splicing and tracking of projects.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Develop and adhere to project plans, with focus on scope, time, cost, quality, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management
Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors and assigned stakeholders
Maintain high fiscal responsibility and tracking of invoicing
Administer regular meetings and ensure proper accountability for project related activities
Meet deadlines and redirect as necessary to allocate appropriate resources toward the completion of priority projects
Strong emphasis on accountability and action item follow through
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure overall project success
Comply with and respond to federal, state and local regulations
Analyze and develop internal processes and implement procedural changes
Assist in the procurement of materials, standards, and specifications for OSP and company resources
Lead and support assigned direct reports
Successfully close out projects and define successes and opportunities for future projects to include process and operational improvement
Physical Requirements
This position requires sitting to complete work with a computer using a variety of software applications and telephone. 25%+/- of the Project Coordinators time will be spent walking and standing in the field with various weather conditions, as well as occasional lifting and/or carrying and/or pushing/pulling of items less than 25lbs. Visual and audio acuity is essential to this position.
Qualifications
To perform the Project Coordinator role successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies, and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor of Science degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience desired
Five or more years of experience in progressively responsible positions, to include previous project coordination experience
PMP Certification preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of certification
Experience with GIS mapping tools and their purpose
Proven ability to multi-task and plan/organize work to meet deadlines, all with a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities
Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team player
Leadership skills and previous supervisory experience preferred
Understanding and appreciation of technology and telecommunications along with general computer skills and proficiency in using standard office equipment
Working Conditions
Normal office conditions, some irregular hours may be required. Occasional day time travel for training or various errands as needed to complete the responsibilities of the position.
