General Manager McCone Electric Cooperative Circle, Montana The Board of Directors of McCone Electric Cooperative invites applications from qualified electric utility leaders for the position of General Manager. The Board has selected NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process. McCone Electric Cooperative (www.McConeElectric.coop), delivers electric power to more than 5,500 meters in 14,400 square miles of eastern Montana. McCone’s member/owners have relied on low cost, reliable electric service for over 55 years. McCone employs 22 dedicated team members and has annual revenues in excess of $10 million. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leadership and must be a person of high integrity. The position requires team-building experience and strategic thinking to lead the cooperative. Strong business acumen with an ability to understand cooperative finances is desired. The GM must represent the cooperative to the owners and community as well as other affiliated organizations. A minimum of 5 years of senior utility management experience is required. Electric cooperative experience is a plus with an understanding of cooperative principles required. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field is preferred. McCone’s headquarters is located in Circle, Montana between the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers and 70 miles west of North Dakota. Wildlife abounds – mule deer, white tail deer, antelope, prairie dogs, coyotes, grouse, pheasant and eagles. Within an hour is Fort Peck Lake which provides 1,500 miles of shoreline for fishing, record-setting walleye, northern pike, bass and even paddle fish. Within four hours are the larger cities of Billings, Montana and Bismarck, North Dakota.
