Responsible for the preparation and negotiation of certain Tri-State contracts as assigned. Negotiates and drafts contracts and amendments associated with the electric transmission system, as conditions require. Assists in the administration of contracts and agreements. Provides billing assistance to the billing functional area, as required.
Note: There is one position available and the position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Contract Analyst II, job grade NB20; Contract Analyst III, job grade NB21 or Senior Contract Analyst, job grade NB22. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate, develop, analyze, research and execute complex contracts and amendments associated with the electric transmission system, as conditions require, for:
Transmission service
Joint system participation, cost sharing and construction
Transmission System Interconnection and construction among and between different entities
New member system/customer-owner points of delivery
Operation and/or maintenance
Telecommunications and/or system metering
Other topics, as assigned
Administration of the above contracts and amendments through their lifecycles.
Provide billing assistance to the billing functional area, as required.
Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training
S. degree in Engineering (Power Engineering preferred), Business, Economics, Contracts, Technical Writing, Law or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Ability to apply engineering theory and principles in drafting contracts for electric utilities and transmission or power delivery.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with all levels of personnel within and outside the company.
Ability to interact successfully with all levels of organizations within Tri-State, Member Systems, and third-party entities.
Ability to multi-task, be highly adaptable, demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel; exercise research skills, decisiveness and self-management.
General knowledge of government regulations affecting electric utilities.
General knowledge of contract law (some formal training preferred).
Experience:
Eight (8) years of progressive experience with an electric utility in planning, operations, engineering, maintenance or contracting.
Other:
Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver’s license.)
