Staking Engineer

Position Summary

This position stakes changes to the Association’s electrical infrastructure using RUS approved engineering standards at the request of its membership or LPEA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities, with limitations depending on risk to the health/safety of the employee and/or others.

• Plans and schedules assigned work to ensure it is completed on time.
• Designs power line installations or changes as needed using RUS engineering standards and methods.
• Prepares required documentation (e.g. staking sheets, material pick lists, and Work Order reports).
• Applies and interprets LPEA’s Service Line Extensions policy.
• Assists in acquiring easements, rights of way, and permits to allow for construction of lines as needed.
• Meets with LPEA members to determine their needs for power lines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License
• Experience in the operation of electrical transmission and distribution systems and associated equipment
• Successful completion of an approved Apprentice Staking Engineer’s program 
• Proficient with computers and be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
• Experience with CAD systems preferred

$44.91 per hour
