The Outside Plant Supervisor is responsible for directing and scheduling all work activities of CVEC Fiber greenfield project. Will supervise outside contractors and the effective installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of fiber to the x (FTTx) outside plant including but not limited to fiber optic cables, drop cables, optical splitters, home installation and associated equipment.
Monitors productivity and workmanship of work to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and according to standards.
Has knowledge of overhead and underground infrastructure as well as installing or maintaining fiber networks and the equipment associated with each.
Has the ability to work, manage, direct, and correct a variety of people and contactors under stressful circumstances through various forms of communication styles such as; email, phone, and in person.
Demonstrates a history of continuous learning and process improvements and how they applied them to the workplace.
Education and Experience
Experience in Telecommunication required.
Education should be in Communications networks or a related field.
Associate’s degree and 3 years’ experience OR minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Strong working knowledge of OTDR operation and testing, light testing, fiber troubleshooting and fiber plant design, preferred.
Have or acquire necessary certifications and training required for the safe and proficient installation of fiber and wireless RF services and related equipment
Work experience may be substituted for the education requirement as well as additional education may be substituted for work experience.
