Maintenance Specialists perform physical maintenance, remodeling, and additions for the organization. This position performs all tasks in a safe and timely manner to meet deadlines required for normal daily operations and special business functions. Performs carpentry on new construction jobs and makes repairs on existing items. Repairs and modifies existing metal buildings. Follows blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions. Makes and repairs cabinets, bulletin boards, desks, tables, partitions, and office equipment and furniture.
Applies roofing materials such as metal, lead, tar paper, tile, composition, wood, corrugated or flat shingles, ethylene propylene diene monomer, tar, and gravel. Installs inside and outside doors, windows, and paneling. Installs and repairs lock sets and panic bars. Pins lock sets and cuts keys.
Selects proper tools and equipment including drop cloths, rags, ladders, scaffolds, brushes, rollers, spray guns, tape, cleaning materials and paint. Prepares surfaces including cleaning, minor repair and patching of metals, wood, masonry, plaster, dry wall, and insulated surfaces. Performs caulking, sanding, taping, and application of special finishes and color matching, as necessary. Makes minor repairs to spray and roller equipment. Installs, finishes, and textures drywall.
Hand-welds various metals parts in compliance with applicable welding codes. Operates other equipment in the shop such as saws, grinders, drills, and various maintenance hand tools.
Repairs or replaces vacuum breaker valves, faucets, garbage disposals and porcelain fixtures. Repairs or replaces PVC, copper, cast iron and clay tile pipe.
Cleans coils and motor fans. Lubricates fans and motors. Cleans or changes filters.
Installs and repairs carpeting, vinyl tile, and ceramic tile and base molding.
Provides technical assistance and works to resolve any safety problems that may develop within the facility. Ensures that proper building codes and regulations are followed in the resolution of the problems. Aids others in the proper use of tools and equipment and utilizes personal protective equipment (as required) to ensure the prevention of lost time and work accidents.
The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is designated safety-sensitive according to AECC/AECI standards and processes
Current and valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or GED, plus specialized training equivalent to 2 years of college coursework, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to operate complex machines and equipment
Experience working in Plumbing, Sheetrock Finishing or Painting
