Investigates and negotiates customer requests for new, revised and relocated service
Provides technical assistance in areas of system design, construction and maintenance
Advises members of the Association requirements to obtain service
Applies Association policies and procedures regarding line design and field service requests
Designs overhead and underground distribution facilities including calculating material breakdown, drafting staking sheets and determining best system design for the Association
Creates staking sheets, assigns service orders and work orders and helps prepare member correspondence
Calculates project estimate of costs, works with finance to monitor payment and refund requests required by Association policy
Maintains Association records related to line extensions, including line share calculations
Assists and coordinates work with Engineering, Operations, Billing, and other departments as appropriate
Works with other utilities to coordinate new construction activities at mutual job sites
Collects GPS field data for mapping and easement requests
Inspects job sites to determine member requirements are being met
Ensure compliance with staking sheets, RUS standards and specification and the NESC and NEC requirements related to construction standards and accepted engineering principles
Patrols lines and field-checks system maps and records, provides data for mapping and record-keeping to Operations for maintenance scheduling.
Ensures proper care, use and storage of Cooperative vehicles, equipment, tools and materials
Helps to resolve member concerns in a timely manner
Forecasts material needs for construction seasons
Maintains a thorough knowledge of entire electrical system including lines, voltage levels, sources of power, direction of feeders, metering points, sensationalizing points,
Understands and performs all responsibilities in accordance with YVEA Policies and Operating Procedures, Electrical Code, RUS Standards and OSHA Regulations.
Associate Degree is preferred
Completion of a Certified Staking and Line Design program is preferred.

Environment/Working Conditions:Work is mostly indoors. Position requires infrequent travel within the service area. Field duties require working outdoors in weather conditions that vary from sub-zero cold to heat above 90 degrees, in wet and dry conditions and in terrain from flat urban to extreme mountainous rural areas, mostly at elevations 6,000 feet or more above sea level. May require work on the weekend and after hours to meet deadlines or address problems. Some travel to industry trade shows and training conferences.
