Under direction of the Maintenance Manager, directs, leads and oversees the Electrical personnel responsible for all repairs and equipment upgrades to electric power generating, transmission, distribution and control equipment.
Industrial environment with ability to exert a moderate degree of physical effort including climbing, balancing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking and the assisted lifting of objects and materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in confined spaces and high areas with electrical hazards. Ability to work in confined spaces including, but not limited to: generators, transformers, breakers, tanks, wire vaults, scrubber modules, boiler, precipitator, vessels, etc. Ability to work in areas of excessive height including, but and not limited to 400-foot stack, 100-foot ball field lights, support structure beams, switchyard structures, manlifts, scrubber module structures, boiler structures, precipitator structures, vessel structures, etc. and to climb into those locations with the necessary tools and safety equipment. Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and depths. Exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, odors, humidity, temperature and noise extremes, wetness, strong or toxic agents or chemical, machinery and vibrations. Specific vision abilities include close vision and distance vision with varied lighting. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
Plans and oversees electrical work for mine areas, maintaining MSHA and OSHA regulations.
Updates and writes PLC programs.
Ensures group assigned activities are performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
Conducts daily safety meetings.
Coaches and mentors’ group workforce.
Provides recommendations for new hires, promotions, performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Ensures training is provided in accordance with current and future needs of the group.
Effectively communicates significant plant and personnel issues to the Maintenance Manager and all applicable levels of company management.
Works with Maintenance Planner, schedules and coordinates inspection and repairs with other departments.
Reviews and maintains work records and applicable documentation of all maintenance performed by the group.
Assists with development of departmental budget.
Develops request for proposals (RFP).
Supervises vendor inspections and repairs of plant equipment.
Drafts and oversees elevator maintenance, doble engineering services and drafting services contracts.
Ensures electrical systems for all fire protection systems are functioning properly.
Maintains plantwide HVAC systems.
Trains Leadmen in Electrical Supervisor duties as needed to assist the event of Electrical Supervisors’ absence.
May be required to work on call, after hours, weekends and holidays.
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Minimum of Associate degree in Electrical or related field
Minimum 10 years experience in Electrical Plant - Maintenance / Electrical
Minimum 5 years experience in supervisor role
