Summary Description: Work with the Manager of Creative Services on the design and content of all Carolina Country digital channels including carolinacountry.com, Carolina Country’s email newsletters and social media. Work with member cooperatives and assist them in leveraging digital channels in their marketing and communication efforts. Identify new ways of connecting members with their electric cooperatives through digital solutions to enhance member and non-member engagement.
Academic and Trade Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in web design, graphic design or related field required.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in web design or digital publishing required
Design and create content on carolinacountry.com
Design and distribute Carolina Country’s email newsletter
Oversee content and engagement across social media channels
Promote the use of digital services to member cooperatives
Design and layout Carolina Country pages each month
Design and layout of cooperative newsletters each month
Design and layout of various corporate jobs including collateral material, reports and presentations as needed
Digital video editing and production as needed
Maintains an understanding of current digital trends and technologies
Work with contractors, freelancers and interns as appropriate
Acquire training as needed for these functions
Thorough understanding of web design, development and graphic design
Thorough working knowledge of HTML, CSS, email and social media platforms
Successful experience working with social media platforms and engaging users
Working knowledge of content management, digital asset management, mobile apps, digital video production, and Adobe Creative Suite
Experienced with project cost estimation and in completing projects on time and within a budget
Abilities and Skills:
The Digital Media Specialist is a strategic and creative thinker with a passion for all things digital
Must have excellent web and graphic design skills
Has knowledge of current digital trends and development
Must have demonstrated ability to manage and produce outstanding designs for a wide variety of communications materials, including websites, social media, emails, magazines, newsletters, brochures, and presentations
Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment on a wide variety of projects on tight deadlines
Must have effective communication skills in working with internal and external customers
Must have ability to examine communications objectives and conceptualize designs
Must be knowledgeable in computer hardware, software and peripherals as they relate to digital trends

Reports to: Manager of Creative Services
Directs: Freelancers and contractors as needed
Internal contacts: Works as a team with Carolina Country design and editorial staff; assist with other corporate departments requiring graphic design or digital media work
External contacts: Works with member co-op communicators to coordinate digital content, design projects, magazine as needed
Working Conditions: Normal working conditions, including some travel and responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
