Hourly Pay: $44.42
Industry: Electric Utility
To assure continuous adequate electric service through the installation of proper service entrances and to provide for the maintenance and operation of the distribution system. To perform maintenance work on either energized or deenergized lines up to, and including, 14.4/24.9 kV. To teach job skills and safety to personnel. Position will oversee a construction crew tasked with new construction of both overhead and underground distribution lines, repair and maintenance of existing overhead and underground distribution lines. Position will oversee, direct, train and instruct assigned employees, to check or test completed work, to prepare or check prescribed records and reports. Position verifies that completed work meets Company standards and performs other related work and any other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
Manage daily operations of service-related jobs and the coordination of the same.
Able to perform energized workup to 25kV and be familiar with proper safety and work procedures, including required PPE.
Adhere to maintenance plan to include preventative maintenance (PM) of oil filled equipment, primary meters, and the general condition of the system to improve reliability.
Train crew and conduct job site safety audits and truck and tool inspections and audits.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Five years' experience as a Journeyman Lineman or equivalent. Must have demonstrated skills in supervising a line crew and be experienced in all facets of electric utility line maintenance and construction. Must have successfully completed an accepted utility line worker apprenticeship program.
Class A Commercial Driver's License: Department of Labor (DOL) Journey Line Worker certification or willing to obtain by completion of a refresher course.
Five to eight years of experience in electrical line work.
Department of Labor (DOL) Journey Line Worker certification.
Ability to maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification, Certified Fork-Lift Operator and Confined Space Training Certification.
Be able to utilize web-based performance management, time tracking systems, email software such as MS outlook, internet software, word processing software such as MS Word and can use customer information systems and utility specific work and service order applications.
Licenses or Certifications
Texas Drivers License is required; Commercial Class A Driver's License required; Department of Labor (DOL) Certification, CPR, First Aid Certifications.
