Under the supervision of the Manager of IT and Broadband Services, assists in the managing of the Cooperative’s information systems including the network hardware and software, applications and other data and voice communications applying management analysis and technical data processing knowledge.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in maintain and developing Internet, Intranet, Extranet, email and external we page to assure these resources are available and effectively used by employees, related businesses and members.
Assists in maintaining the client server and workstation system by diagnosing and isolating malfunctioning components, attaching or removing devices as needed by users, loading new applications and testing new software, among others to ensure that the computer network is functioning properly and efficiently and meets the user’s needs.
Assists in data processing training and provides technical assistance to users as requested or directed to help users become more proficient in the use of the personal computer network system.
Performs functions as a Help Desk Operator in order to support to all Cooperative internal employees in the areas of technical phone support, troubleshoot network, server, computer, printer, virus and security issues.
Establishes and maintains an effective professional working relationship with co-workers and all necessary levels of management.
Maintains a professional image and standards of professional conduct at all times while working in the public, representing the Cooperative and/or conducting business on behalf of the Cooperative.
Plans, schedules and coordinates tasks, events and activities with Manager of IT & Broadband Services to assure that all work is completed within the necessary allocated time.
Develops, maintains and executes a calendar and schedule of activities. Communicates and coordinates such activities with Manager of IT & Broadband Services and all other necessary employees and/or necessary levels of management.
Scans, indexes and files all required records in a manner by which they can be easily retrieved upon request by management.
Makes his/herself available to answer phone calls, provide general assistance and provide updates to the public during power outages.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Protects and maintains member confidence by safeguarding member and employee information.
Provides service to members and fellow employees by answering questions, offering assistance and performing other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Technical training in computer hardware / software; college degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in Cooperative Information Technology services preferred; experience in computer services / maintenance & information technology highly desirable.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Should be able to maintain a computer internet system including servers and related equipment. Should be able to integrate all the information and data systems necessary to support customer service and billing. Should be able to perform detailed analysis of the complete system.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Must be able to communicate well with others; must be able to organize and plan; must be capable of analytical thinking / troubleshooting.
