The System Protection Asset Coordinator promotes the development, implementation, and maintenance of the System Protection NERC Reliability asset software and database. The position provides assistance to System Protection personnel regarding compliance program requirements, tracks NERC compliance activities, monitors compliance reporting, and ensures completion of necessary documentation.
Manages protection system assets, to include compliance related component assets through other departments.
Manages and maintains Enoserv PowerBase database software.
Provides technical assistance to field personnel and a liaison to database software support.
Manages and monitors System Protection’s Reliability Compliance standards, including development, evidence gathering, audit preparation, and compliance status reporting, in order to assist the departments technical expertise with management of its NERC Reliability Standards.
Assists standard owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) with preparation for compliance evaluations such as self-certifications, data reports, spot checks, and audits, including gathering evidence and tracking documentation.
Assists with training development, and the deployment of training of applicable EKPC employees, necessitated by changes to the NERC Reliability Standards or by revisions to EKPC reliability compliance policies, procedures or evidentiary documentation, to ensure understanding of the standards.
Manages a database of evidentiary documentation of System Protection’s compliance with NERC/SERC standards and works closely with Standard Owners and SMEs to accomplish the annual or periodic review and update of said documentation, and ensures all archived documents are auditably compliant.
Remains current with CIP standards and requirements; informs System Protection SMEs of changes as needed.
Works with EKPC’s CIP department on all CIP compliance related activities.
Assesses the current compliance level of all applicable standards relating to System Protection and suggests changes or improvements to EKPC’s compliance program necessitated by said assessments.
Coordinates internal reviews with other departments responsible for portions of System Protection’s identified standards.
Initiates and manages internal investigations of potential violations of NERC Reliability Standards.
Ensure potential violations are reported to EKPC’s Compliance department.
Works closely with EKPC’s Compliance department, Standard Owner, SMEs, and SERC investigative personnel to bring all incidents of potential violations to a satisfactory conclusion.
Receives and distributes NERC-issued industry alerts, and assists Standard Owner and SMEs to ensures full response to all such alerts.
Ensures affected employees are familiar with and have signed related EKPC and industry documents/statements.
Tracks information; ensures documentation for audit compliance; ensures that work is done properly & consistently with best utility practices.
Develops and maintains multiple external contacts to enhance EKPC’s compliance efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Seven (7) years of electric utility-related experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to gain familiarity with business processes and information flow.

Ability to meet pressured deadlines and time constraints.
Ability to gain a thorough understanding of NERC Compliance Program and Standards, as well as EKPC-related policies, procedures, and obligations.
Familiarity with regulatory procedures and law helpful.
Proficiency with computer databases, personal computers, related office software and current technology.
Must have an intermediate-level understanding of Microsoft Office software applications.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills emphasizing the ability to communicate effectively, including communicating technical information, both orally and in writing.
Ability to exercise good judgement and make sound decisions.
Must have strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-paced work environment.
Ability to maintain proficiency with new systems and software as technology evolves.

Conditions of Employment
Usual office conditions apply to this position with occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
Some travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
