-Provide technical expertise in the area of PC acquisition and overall management of the Cooperative's PC terminals, file servers and data communications equipment.
-Provide technical assistance for the installation of computer equipment, software and networking.
-Assists in direction, technical guidance, and support during the acquisition process of all the Cooperative’s computer, data communications equipment and all associated and application software under the direction of the Network Administrator.
-Assists in developing the PC network in such a fashion as to meet the personal computer requirements of the Cooperative.
-Assists in ensuring that the correct priorities are assigned to I.T. Help Desk problems and that requests are handled in a timely manner.
-Ensures that excellent customer service is a top priority when providing assistance and/or services to (primarily internal) customers.
-Provides after hours support on a rotating basis.
-Associates of Science degree in computer science or related field of study preferred. Two or more years’ experience in personal computer networking and individual courses in personal computers and computer science may be substituted for college degree. Microsoft certifications are preferred.
-Prefer two (2) years’ experience in the areas of PC setup and installation, software applications including Microsoft Office (365), and setup and installation of networking equipment. Microsoft certifications and knowledge of Active Directory preferred.
-Ability to recommend the purchase and installation of PC and data communications equipment. Technical expertise in the area of networking preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must maintain a valid Maryland Class C or equivalent driver’s license.

The Cooperative was incorporated as Choptank Cooperative, Inc. on Sept. 21, 1938, following passage of the Rural Electrification Act. Its first 78 miles of line were energized in Caroline County on Dec. 15, 1939, serving 184 members. The cooperative’s name was changed to Choptank Electric Cooperative in 1942 and then in 1976, Choptank joined Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) to obtain lower wholesale power costs.
