This position operates and maintains the gas turbine generating units, all electrical and electronic equipment, and other plant facilities at the Lonesome Creek Station (LCS). This position may also be assigned to work and support the Culbertson Generation Station located near Culbertson, MT and the Pioneer Generation Station located near Williston, ND. This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.
Qualifications: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of electrical, instrument, mechanical, or plant operations at a level obtained through the completion of a two-year degree in an electrical, instrumentation and control, mechanical, or operations program, and three years of electrical, controls, mechanical, or operating industrial, combustion turbine, or coal-based power plant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and five years of experience in electrical, controls, mechanical, or operating industrial, combustion turbine, or coal-based power plant experience. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, and must have a valid driver’s license.
Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands: This position requires continuous sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and reaching; frequent bending, kneeling, and using keyboard/computer; and occasional crawling, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, and lifting up to 50 pounds. This position requires finger dexterity, hand coordination, good color vision, and good hearing. Working conditions may frequently include chemicals and noise; and occasionally extreme heat/cold, dirt, and dust. This position must be respirator qualified, able to operate a motor vehicle. The incumbent must also remain fit for duty and must remain in compliance with ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code Standards. (Equipment weight ranges between 18-28 lbs.
