The Right of Way Specialist will be responsible for a variety of duties to support the Right of Way Engineer. Responsibilities include:
Performs duties of researching, drafting, evaluating, interpreting, recording, and notarizing easement documents for the Cooperative.
Evaluates existing easements for validity and applicability to new projects, and draft and obtain new easements as required.
Drafting, reading, and drawing coordinate geometry for property and easement area descriptions and mapping.
Prepares documents that are clear and understandable to their users, consistent will land surveying and register of deeds standards, and in accordance with Cooperative standards.
Assists in the preparation of documents and communications for right of way work and work plan projects.
Review and reconciliation of invoices for work orders and service orders to assure value and accuracy.
Performs field work required for right of way tree trimming, reviewing, evaluating, and prioritizing trimming requests and new cuts, marking distribution lines and rights-of-way for trimming and danger trees, audits and/or inspects the right of way and right of way work.
Must be sensitive to member property needs while focusing on the safety of the Cooperative’s rights within the easements.
Education - Two-year college degree is required, preferably in engineering or related field. High school or vocational school graduate with technical majors, together with favorable experience, will be evaluated to determine equivalency to or in lieu of a degree. Additional technical related courses are desirable.
Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical utility distribution engineering; field land surveying; OR survey/civil computer aided drafting required. Additionally, experience in surveying, arboriculture, computer aided drafting, GIS or mapping system desired.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass test to demonstrate competency. Test to be given at the sole discretion of the employer.
