We are a quickly growing electric distribution cooperative and have added a new position to help our Engineering Team with Right of Way duties to include working with public records, identifying land ownership, preparing documents as well as proving other technical and administrative support to the department.
Identifies land ownership from cooperative and public records.
Generate, track, and monitor right of use documentation such as notices to property owners, licenses, leases, and agreements.
Prepares right-of-way and easement documentation for line extension contracts including recording the documents in the appropriate county.
Negotiates the acquisition of right of way and other property interest, as necessary to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of cooperative facilities.
Reviews engineering drawings and identifies risks related to right of way and provide suggestions for minimizing risks and unnecessary owner involvement.
Coordinate Joint Use contracts, Joint Use applications and maintains files of all related documents.
Secures permits necessary for the construction and maintenance of cooperative facilities, including but not limited to Transmission Lines, RR crossings and gas lines.
Respond to member concerns about Right-of-Way conditions and maintenance activities.
Responsible for assisting the other Engineering personnel in office as needed.
Knowledge of right-of-way requirements including acquisition, permitting, cost forecasting, negotiating along with a solid understanding of regulatory and legal requirements.
Prior experience with utility line design or electrical construction/maintenance preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of similar experience is required. Having obtained or willing to obtain the Professional Certificate of Right-of-Way is a plus. Active membership with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented, self-motivated, well organized, personable, and able to exercise discretion in dealing with people and handle confidential information.

The pay range for this position is between $25 and $38.64 per hour.
