The position of Chief Operations Officer is one of high responsibility for coordinating and directing the Operations Department for safe, reliable and economical system operation. Incumbent must have demonstrated leadership ability, a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of safe line construction, line maintenance, troubleshooting, and public relations.
The Chief Operations Officer will coordinate with Management, Administration and Operations Departments and direct the Operations Department leaders to train, coach and supervise, both directly and indirectly, all aspects of line work on powerlines, whether energized or non-energized, routine or non-routine. Will participate, when required, with installation, retirement, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of overhead and underground powerlines, powerline equipment, trimming, clearing, chipping, and/or chemical treatment of trees and/or brush along the right of ways. Also ensures accurate completion of forms, reports and other documentation. Will ensure all work performed by subordinates is done in a safe, productive manner.
Serves as company Safety Coordinator.
Valid Class A CDL.
At least ten (10) years' experience in electric power distribution, with a minimum of five (5) years as a Journeyman Lineman or equivalent.
At least two (2) years' experience in a supervisory/management position.
NRECA certified in supervision and/or management. Must obtain within three (3) years of occupying the position.
