BEC currently has an opening for a full-time Assistant Network Server and Security Administrator in our IT Department. This position will report to the IT Supervisor. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Maintaining the Cooperative’s computer network, which includes maintenance, upgrades and changes for networking hardware and software.
Providing networking assistance to users, including configuring switch ports and making physical connections.
Performing analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
Monitoring network traffic and makes necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware.
Maintaining a network inventory that includes PC’s, Servers, Thin clients, printers, switches, and any other network-related equipment.
Maintaining VMWare environment, physical hosts, and SANs to include installation, set-up, updates, modifications, back-ups, replication, procedures/documentation, training, and offering assistance when requested.
Responding to internal and external inquiries concerning systems operation, diagnoses system hardware, software and user problems.
Other duties will include PC hardware setup and installation, software installations, updating and back-ups.
Maintaining or creating procedures/documentation. Offers assistance or training when requested.
Maintaining and tracking software licensing and renews licenses when appropriate.
Monitoring cybersecurity alerts from internal and external sources and responding to alerts as needed.
Assisting Technical Support Specialist with training of employees and users.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities required for this position:
A degree in network engineering, computer science or a related field is preferred. Significant experience with technical certification may be substituted for degree requirement.
At least three years progressively responsible experience in an information technology environment is required.
Must possess strong organizational skills, allocate time effectively, handle multiple tasks and competing priorities, meet deadlines and pay attention to details with accuracy all with little supervision.
Must have ability to build rapport, cultivate relationships, and present a positive attitude toward internal and external customers and maintain composure during stressful situations. Predictable and dependable attendance is required.
Must have excellent communication skills to include ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both verbal and written forms.
Sets high standards of performance, demonstrates sound business ethics and maintains confidentiality.

Additional Salary Information: The wage range for this full-time position is $33.39 to $40.33 per hour with an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance and a pension plan and 401k match.
