BEC currently has an opening for a full-time Human Resources Specialist in our Administrative Department. This position will report to the Assistant General Manager. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Processes accurate and timely changes concerning employee benefits and salary adjustments.
Coordinates and processes employee performance appraisals working closely with supervisors to ensure accurate, timely completion on an annual basis.
Maintains employee training database and work with supervisors to provide training opportunities for cooperative employees.
Assists in compliance with Federal, State, and local employment laws in order to demonstrate the Cooperative's commitment to our current and future employees.
Assists with the recruiting process, working closely with supervisors in order to attract and retain the best candidates.
Responds to authorized requests for information and verification of employment for other employers, banking professionals, etc., to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Completes state and federal new hire, EEO, unemployment and benefit compliance forms to ensure accurate records and compliance with legal requirements.
Assists in coordination of employee events.
Maintains interdepartmental relations by showing interest and empathy for others and providing good communication with other employees.
Helps others by performing other duties as assigned and/or needed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities required for this position:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required. HR certification through an accredited program and a minimum of two years related experience is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of employee benefits, insurance plans, work policies and employment law is preferred.
Requires general working knowledge of computers and computer software including Word and Excel.
Must possess strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, allocate time effectively, handle multiple tasks and competing priorities, meet deadlines and pay attention to details with accuracy all while showing initiative and self-motivation.
Must have ability to build rapport, cultivate relationships, and present a positive attitude toward internal and external customers and maintain composure during stressful situations. Predictable and dependable attendance is required.
Must have excellent communication skills to include ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both verbal and written forms.
Sets high standards of performance, demonstrates sound business ethics and maintains confidentiality.

Additional Salary Information: The wage range for this full-time position is $30.95 to $34.74 per hour with an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance and a pension plan and 401k match.
