As a member of the senior leadership team, you provide the vision and direction necessary to continually transform the organization through technology deployment, program development, partnerships and fostering a company-wide culture of innovation. You create inspirational direction for the functions and activities needed to integrate technologies for improved business operations and effectiveness. You are an innovation scout, developing and seeking ideas inside and outside the organization that can improve our processes or transform the way we deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy. You steer the research into strategic future technologies, processes and business opportunities. You enjoy working with others to assess opportunities, risks, strengths and weaknesses to find those that best align with the purpose, vision and capabilities of VEC. As a project manager you will also turn vision into reality through pilot projects, and work collaboratively through a broad variety of teams to achieve results.
You are tenacious, curious, and optimistic, bringing electric utility innovation to VEC. You are also a senior leader and supervisor of people who provide service and information technology solutions for the cooperative. In the lead technology role, you provide oversight to our cybersecurity, administrative and other technology functions across the organization including managing priorities and ensuring VEC is continually advancing how we do work.

What You Do / Will Do:
Articulate the long-term vision and roadmap for technology innovation needed in order to deliver energy transformation and business process improvements.
Identify opportunities and play an active role in the development and implementation of tools and resources to advance productivity across the organization.
Promote and support VEC employees with collaborative technology solutions, innovations, technological training, system integration and special project assistance as needed and available.
Coach and educate teams, by developing training programs to contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing (project management, requirements gathering, business process modeling etc.)
Build out innovation capabilities and transfer them into the broader VEC culture, one where employees embrace innovation and enjoy building their own innovation skills.
Inspire change management and team-member readiness for key initiatives.
Manage overall project team activities and monitor progress, including project health, capacity planning, developing and mentoring staff, and internal process improvement activity.
Seek, evaluate, recommend, prioritize and manage budgeting for tactical and strategic projects that have the potential to deliver energy transformation.
Develop data-guided innovation strategies that effectively collect, analyze and use data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Seek innovative grant opportunities and partnerships that can help evolve the electric grid, partner with other innovative organizations, and source the funding of this work.
Oversee and support the VEC Cyber Security Steering Committee in the development, implementation, and administration of the VEC Cyber Security Program and our solid cyber security culture.
Represent VEC on regional and national technology related organizations.

Bachelor’s Degree, minimum 3 years of management experience and 5 years of relevant experience (cybersecurity, IT, program development, innovation leadership, change management, project management).
