This position executes and supports Mountain View Association’s cyber security policies and architecture to ensure the appropriate confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all MVEA systems and assets. Utilizing security monitoring tools, assessing known and detected threats, reviewing security events to identify risks, the individual will report, drive collaboration, and implement remediation steps by partnering with IT personnel. This position will conduct cyber security training for end users, work with a broad range of technology solutions, and under the guidance of the IT Supervisor and IS Manager, contribute to protecting MVEA and its members data. This position will bring value to MVEA by performing the following duties:
Identify gaps in security processes and recommend solutions in the areas of security tools, processes, and procedures.
Actively architect, design, administer, monitor, and collaborate with System Administrators for installing and maintaining security architecture technology processes and products including security information and event management, anti-malware, intrusion detection, public key management, certificate management, physical security management, and identity & password management solutions.
Provide first responder forensics analysis and investigation. Investigate and lead response activities to security events and potential incidents in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Collaborate with IT Supervisor and IS Manger in developing and maintaining an Incident Response Plan and other information security policies, procedures, and manuals.
Hunt for cyberthreats and risks hiding inside systems and data before attacks occur based on available threat intelligence.
Provide and implement tuning recommendations based on findings during investigations or threat information reviews.
Keep abreast of the latest security issues and brief IT Supervisor and IS Manager of emerging threats including both general threats and those specifically targeting the electric sector and industrial control systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security & Assurance, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field required, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Security +, SSCP, CSX Fundamentals, or FNS certification or comparable certification preferred.
Proven analytical, problem-solving and investigation abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
Ability to conduct research into IT/OT security issues and products as required.
Working knowledge of threat intelligence consumption and management, malware infection root causes and proactive mitigation, lateral movement, footholds, and data exfiltration techniques.
Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
Knowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Electric Sector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model, CIS Security Controls, ISO 270001, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The pay range for this position is between $26.44 - 40.86 per hour.
