About WST Electric Coop
WSTE is a member-owned rural electric cooperative with 91 employees that provides electric service approximately 50,000 members with a 350 MW winter and a 250 MW summer peak. The service territory covers all or parts of Washington, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa Parishes in southeast Louisiana with approximately 5,300 energized line miles at 7.62/13.2 kV and 166 miles at 69 kV. WSTE has 6 (4 - 230 kV/69 kV and 2 - 115 kV/69 kV) high voltage wholesale delivery points with 30 (69 kV - 7.62/13.2 kV) distribution substations. There are 3 satellite office/warehouse locations in Slidell, Folsom and Abita Springs, Louisiana.
WSTE is headquartered in the rural community of Franklinton, Louisiana. Louisiana, the “sportsman’s paradise” has abundant wildlife (white tailed deer, and turkey) for the avid hunter. The fisherman has access to two beautiful rivers, the Pearl and the Bogue Chitto, in addition to the mighty Mississippi. The Gulf of Mexico is nearby for saltwater species. The headquarters is located within easy access of both New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast for entertainment and leisure.
