The Board of Directors of Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, Inc. (WSTE) headquartered in Franklinton, Louisiana is seeking qualified candidates to serve as the CEO to the Cooperative to replace the current CEO who is retiring this year (2022). WSTE is a member-owned rural electric cooperative with 91 employees that provides electric service approximately 50,000 members with a 350 MW winter and a 250 MW summer peak. The service territory covers all or parts of Washington, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa Parishes in southeast Louisiana with approximately 5,300 energized line miles at 7.62/13.2 kV and 166 miles at 69 kV. WSTE has 6 (4 - 230 kV/69 kV and 2 - 115 kV/69 kV) high voltage wholesale delivery points with 30 (69 kV - 7.62/13.2 kV) distribution substations. There are 3 satellite office/warehouse locations in Slidell, Folsom and Abita Springs, Louisiana.

WSTE is headquartered in the rural community of Franklinton, Louisiana. Louisiana, the “sportsman’s paradise” has abundant wildlife (white tailed deer, and turkey) for the avid hunter. The fisherman has access to two beautiful rivers, the Pearl and the Bogue Chitto, in addition to the mighty Mississippi. The Gulf of Mexico is nearby for saltwater species. The headquarters is located within easy access of both New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast for entertainment and leisure.

The CEO advises and assists the Board of Directors in development of strategic direction, policies, budgets, and contracts. Directs, develops, and maintains the staff and resources needed to carry out the mission of WSTE as directed by the Board of Directors. Oversees the day-to-day operations and fosters member/customer relations. Successful CEO candidates will have a background working in an electric distribution cooperative, with a strong focus on understanding power supply, regulatory issues, financial metrics, and the importance of a safety culture. Minimum of 10 years of electric utility experience with at least 5 years in management positions. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or business administration is highly preferred however equivalent work experience may be considered. The successful candidate must become a member and live on the WSTE system.
