Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking a System Controls Technician who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to exceptional service.

The System Controls Technician is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of the Association’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System and Energy Management System (EMS) infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and secure operation is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and maintains SCADA/EMS infrastructure in accordance with Poudre Valley policies, regulatory standards and industry best practices.
• Collaborate in and provide recommendations for the system design, configuration, and installation of the Association’s Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure.
• Configures SCADA/EMS systems to communicate with field equipment including RTUs, IEDs, and meters.
• Maintain and support the distribution of real-time, near real-time and historical data to internal and external customers from SCADA, EMS and other OT systems.
• Provide end-user support to operators, engineers, and other SCADA/EMS users while ensuring the system remains compliant with Association, regulatory and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associates from accredited university or trade school required. A degree in engineering technology with an emphasis in automation, electronics and/or communication systems or equivalent experience preferred.
• Four (4) years in electric utilities; SCADA, computer or electronic technician, relay/control technician, or equivalent is desirable. Experience configuring and troubleshooting DNP3 and Modbus protocols highly desired.
