Build and maintain electric and telecommunication utilities infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Constructs and maintains underground and overhead sub-transmission and distribution lines related to tasks of new construction of energized and de-energized lines.
Locating underground cable as required.
Broad knowledge of the operation of regulators, oil circuit reclosure’s, and transformer banks.
Knowledgeable of all transformer bank connection configurations.
Tree trimming as required.
Maintains accurate accounting and care for materials, trucks, tools and equipment.
Assists with member complaint resolution, troubleshooting service outages, voltage testing, and completing outage reports.
Installation and maintenance of fiber optics lines and telecommunications equipment.
Cover after hours stand-by on a rotational basis for outages and other trouble calls.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Majority of activities are performed outside in all kinds of weather.
Irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Travel outside the system may be required.
Must be able to perform activities listed in the position description.
Activities performed are driving, sitting and walking, working at various heights above the ground both off the pole and from aerial devices.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have completed a 4-year state accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent.
Must be a certified Journeyman Lineman.
Must possess or obtain a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules, construction codes and regulations.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with consumers and coworkers.
Must be able to operate computers, communication equipment and standard office equipment.
