Job Summary

The Renewable Energy Advisor is responsible for the implementation and technical support of the association’s distributed generation and net metering programs.  This position will require cross-departmental collaboration with Grid Solutions, Operations/Staking Engineering, Billing and Accounting, and Member Experience teams.  Community outreach, member engagement, and public speaking will also be a responsibility.

Essential Functions

• Review and maintain distributed generation interconnection records and manage the interconnection application process. Perform on-site interconnection inspections (pre & final).
• Acceptance testing and specification review on new inverters.
• Manage LPEA's Qualified and Approved Solar Installer program and training.
• Perform interconnection studies using engineering models, load flow, and generation analysis
• Provide members AMI billing analysis and members rate evaluation studies.
• Maintain and update cooperative Interconnection Standards, run database queries to obtain information necessary for analysis.
• Manage the Residential REC program and REC reporting to Tri-State and distribution of funds.
• Administer renewable generation grant process.
• Perform billing analysis reviews for members.
• Manage the association’s relationship with distributed generation vendors.
• Point of contact for membership for distributed generation inquiries.
• Supports the Energy Management team by addressing energy assessments related to distributed generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent from a four-year college; and two years related experience and/or training; or an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely test energized 120/240 volt energized lines.
• Clear understanding of volt, var, watt, kilowatts, and kilowatt-hour measurements.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of dispute resolution techniques with the ability to defuse confrontational topics and conversations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, members, installers, and the public.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database software

Compensation

Hourly pay range- $31.77- $34.85
